POSTGRADUATE STUDIES
After I finish my Filmmaking and Television degree here at ICEI this year, I would like to continue with my studies, cause I feel this is not enough for what I want to know. I'm thinking about getting a postgraduate degree at the Campus Oriente of Universidad Católica, also about filmmaking, but connected to other areas as well, to deepen my knowledge, but, in order to get that, first I have to raise a lot of money to pay for it. I don't know if I can get a scholarship to help me get through.
The postgraduate degree I want to do is mostly about Aesthetic Theory and how it can influence the process of filmmaking. I think that if you have a better understatement of aesthetics, you can improve a lot when making films or television, going beyond commercial approaches. Apart from that, the degree also comprehends subjects as Art History, Aesthetics & Society, Aesthetics History, and Critic.
I think it's important to study these subjects because the art of filmmaking is such complex work, and requires a deep knowledge of many areas. It's not enough to just learn to handle cameras and lights. You can learn that almost anywhere, but the ideas that help you improve, maybe you need teachers for that, to help you think for yourself.
